Merry Christmas

Well, Jack seemed to like Christmas, even if he wasn't too thrilled with his first trip to meet Santa Claus. He wanted us to pass along his wishes for a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year.

Jedi Jack

Sorry for being a little late with this post, but Jack keeps us busy (and the blog DID start after Halloween after all!).

Here's a pic of Jack's first Official Halloween costume. He finally went out "door to door" this year and experienced his first halloween. He was pretty shy about it and didn't realize that the neighbors were giving him candy until after he got home.

When he DID realize that he got candy, he was pretty excited. Mom of course knew to squash that pretty fast! She only let him have half a piece of candy. He took that, then a few minutes later was trying to work the situation out. He wandered over to his jac-o-lantern, only to notice that it was empty.

You could see the wheels turning in his head. He looked up at the table in our entry way and saw an entire bowl full of candy (the one that we were giving to "trick or treaters"). He wandered over and started to fill his own bowl. Even though I wanted to laugh and reward his ingenuity, we took the candy away.

Again, you could see that he was working out the problem. About a minute later, he took the empty jac-o-lantern, picked it up and headed to the front door. He didn't try for the candy bowl, but rather unlocked the front door, headed out and went straight down the driveway towards the neighbors! He was going straight back to the source for more candy. You can't say that he isn't able to work out problems at the ripe old age of 2.3 years.

As I went out to grab him on the driveway, he DID look back as if to ask "Daddy, you ARE going to help with this, aren't you? After all, you DID have to carry me to the door and ring the bell for me since I was too shy."

He tried this again about 3 times over the next ten minutes until he realized that it wasn't going to work, though he was laughing so hard on the last few times that I think that it was mostly for our benefit. He's becoming quite the jokester.

Blast from the (not-so distant) past

Here's Jack at his second birthday celebration at Happy Hollow Amusement Park in San Jose. Unfortunately, he and Daddy got a bit too roudy and ended up being wanted men.

Fortunately for Jack, he was brighter than his Daddy and he remained "on the lamb". A reward is offered for any information on his whereabouts.

Jack's favorite little friend

Jack has carried his little moose everywhere since Grandpa brought him back from Chicken, Alaska. Jack gets no end of double (even triple, quadruple) takes from people when they see him walking around with this unusual little stuffed animal.

First Jack-Jack post

Hi!
Seems fair to me that I get the first post. Let's celebrate Jack! Posts of all of his cousins are certainly welcome, and will be celebrated too! Just let me know how to add your pictures and captions. Let's have some fun!
